CHRISTMAS SPLATTER

Panel  1

Week 22 Compendium of Curiosities Challenge & Sunday Stamper Challenge

I haven't posted a thing on my blog all week because I haven't made anything  see sad face  I am looking after my mom almost all of the time now so don't get much chance to craft at the moment but had to squeeze in CCC last night before I fell asleep in front of telly and realised when I had finished that I could also join in with Sunday Stamper at the same time. 2 for 1 a bargain!!!!!!

Linda at Studio L3 set us the challenge this week of Alcohol Ink Splatter, now we all know that I can't say what I did for the technique but what I can say is that for pic no1. after the splattering I ran through the TH Alterations Trees folder and then sanded, stamped trees from TH Mini Holidays in black, same for Merry Christmas. I have left it as a panel as I don't know if I will make a Christmas Card with it or a hanging (seem to be into those at the mo) or put into my book!

Panel 2
For the second panel this evolved after a bit of a mishap at stage 4 and 5 ooppps!.  I stamped Santa onto the area with the mishap - can you spot it ? and ran with it again have not made it into anything but think this will end up as a Christmas Tag for DH.  Will enter this panel into Sunday Stampers challenge this week is SANTA.

I don't have the right tool for this one and used a straw as suggested by Linda maybe I need more puff but not sure if I really pulled of the effect, my inks all seem to have merged into each other!!  I will have to finish them off when I have some more time.

Thanks for looking and for all the lovely comments you have left on my blog.  I simply have not had time to leave as many comments this week but all the art over at L3 is amazing!

Distressed Christmas Tags

Here we go again another great challenge from the lovely Linda at Studio L3, I love Mondays and I got to play early this week. This weeks challenge is  Perfect Distress.  Now you all know by now we can't talk about the technique but I will say Linda gave a warning on how addictive this is and I will agree lol; as I have made 5 tags  only 3 I'm happy with  which are here  to share the other 2 I'm not pleased with as I was a bit heavy handed in step 3 and step 5 but will keep and make a note on the back where I went wrong and put in my book which I'm making for these challenges.

Trees- stamped in Pine needles
background shabby shutters

Music- background tea dye stamped
 in vintage photo Merry Christmas
Pine needles

Snowman - stamped in Chipped Sapphire

On the trees tag I stamped Merry Christmas in pine needles and then in black versafine ink moving stamp just enough to leave a shadow, snowman tag background was tea dye, will all the backgrounds I covered tag and misted and flicked water.  My favourite is the vintage music tag think I had got the hang of the technique by this time lol; nice to make different tags for Christmas thanks Linda for challenging me I don't want this challenge to end.

Items used Stamps from Tim Holtz mini holidays and DI inks, luggage tags

AUTUMN LEAVES

I love Autumn and all the gorgeous colours in the leaves, it has been quite windy here this week and there is a carpet of leaves everywhere you go, don't you just love kicking through them and seeing the colours fly - or is that just me being a kid again!!!!  This led me to my entry for this weeks Sunday Stampers challenge how could I resist; with images of carpets of leaves in my head  I cut the leaf shapes with my new Nestabilities die (made me get them out of the packaging - how bad is that!!) onto various colours of card and inked with DI while they were still in the die (after cutting and embossing ) with rusty hinge vintage photo, barn door, crushed olive.  The background was crackled using adirondack dabbers in bottle and citrus with the paint and pva technique shared by Hels here I think and in Craft Stamper Mag ages ago - thanks Hels :-() for sharing. The verse is from a  nature stamp set from Stampin' Up!

Close up of Verse same hanging colour looks darker because flash was bouncing back so switched it off

Thanks for the challenge Hels really enjoyed it

SANTA & Industrial Grunge

Who stole the week!!!!! here we are Friday already and I have only just managed to play along with this weeks CC Challenge set  by Linda at Studio L3 . In fact first time I have played all week!!!

I decided to make a Christmas Hanging using this weeks technique (I'm getting a little bit into the Christmas spirit ho ho ho -  not a lot)  Sooooo I used TH Alterations Die, Hanging Sign and followed the steps for the technique, it was a first for this one and a great learning curve, still not sure if I got it completely right.

I stamped the word Santa using Broadsheet Alphabet from Stampin' Up! and used TH DI inks to colour, mounted the whole thing onto a piece of mountboard which I stamped snowflakes from TH mini Christmas collection in stormy sky and faded jeans and worked same ink in around edges.

Close up picture close up to see technique on hanging; shows up better on the bracket  - think I have covered most of it up on the sign.  DI inks used on sign rusty hinge, black soot.

Have a safe bonfire night
