Silhouettes at Sunset......

Good morning everyone Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr it is very chilly here this morning hope it warms up soon!! I have had some new Stamps sitting waiting to be inked and so last night I went to play in my little crafty room and got inky.........fabulous.  The Stamps are from A Little Bit Scenic Range by Sheena Douglas I fell in love with these sets because they are Silhouettes and are brilliant with inky backgrounds. Sets I used are Silhouette Grasses and Highlands Silhouette
Don't you just love this owl... I do............. background was made with Distress Inks scattered straw, dusty concorde, faded jeans, stamped over in black soot and embossed with black embossing powder.  The edges were distressed with my scissors as I couldn't find my distressing tool...........it is buried under the crafty stash on my desk .......somewhere!!! I then embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Denim Lilac Arora powder it is the most glorious colour blues and mauves then I got a little carried away with the sewing machine around the edges of my kraft card blank!  I am sharing this card at Anything Goes Challenge Blog - #74 make your own backgrounds Thanks for popping in ' till next time

CHRISTMAS TAG!!!!

On a rainy wednesday what better way to spend  the morning than playing in the room of craft and getting inky.......I had a great time making this tag.

I was inspired by Studio L3 Challenge 19 - Kraft Resist  which is following Tim Holtz book CC2 pop over to Linda's and take a look at Tim's Video there.
Sunday Stampers challenge - Green.  Yep I think I can safely say my tag is green lol
I haven't played at either challenges in a long time so it has been great to be able to join in again.

Tag photo was taken this way as it was the only angle that showed up the resisit on the paper, light isn't great as weather so dull

you can just make out the words down the side which say Christmas Carol. I cut the festive greenery with a selection of papers from the colorcore Distress Collection and sanded, lace from my stash.

A fun technique to do and I have now officially made my first item for Christmas 2012......yikes!!!!

Products used Tim Holtz Kraft Resist card;Distress Inks vintage photo, peeled paint, crushed olive, Dies, Festive Greenery, Candlelight Fright, Distress Stickles rock candy, frayed burlap, white and orange acrylic paint

'till next time

HOLIDAYS and TRAVEL..........

.................and a TAG!!!

Hi everyone it has been a while since I posted anything crafty here, I have been having a break enjoying catching up with family and friends, reading  lots..........yes including the trilogy of Basic Grey and several more books. Also spending time in my crafty room making inky mess with inks and sprays I now have backgrounds ready to go, wish I could say I have also been enjoying the summer weather......best not mention that............

With the latter 2 in mind I have made a Tag and will be sharing with

The Artistic Stamper Challenge Blog - Holidays
Happy Daze Design Team - Circling the World
Tando Creative Challenge Blog - Travel

On my Tag I have used a new (to me) Tim Holtz Die one of my favs Umbrella Man he has been on his Holidays Traveling around the world , good job he had is umbrella with him......he needed it as soon as he got back to the UK lol!

Umbrella Man was cut using TH co-ordinations paper sanded to make him look well traveled, background was made using distress inks stromy sky, mustard seed, weathered wood, stamps used TH in  black soot and vintage photo also as background colours, added embelishments and mounted my die cut onto foam.

Thanks for looking  until next time

My two little babies...........

...............Hi everyone I haven't anything crafty to show you today, have been busy watching the Olympics and relaxing, wish I could say I am enjoying the Summer....weather here today has been sunshine and heavy showers, soooooooo I thought  I would share something from my garden..........these very cute pictures of my baby Blackbirds...................ahhhhh don't you just think they are beautiful....

bottom picture shows Mum returning to her babies she is soooo scruffy feathers sticking out everywhere after all her hard work....Dads nowhere to be seen by the way....... lol.  We did have a pair of song thrushes busy feeding 3 babies (DH took a quick peep over a week ago) but sadly over the last 2 days I haven't seen them and today when I was hanging out washing I could hear the babies cheeping in the hedge.......I feel something is wrong ............ as our song birds are getting so scarce I was hoping for great things with this nest...........It has not been all bad news though In my garden I have seen baby Robins, lots of sparrows, baby Blue Tits and of course the baby Blackbirds.

Thanks for reading the ramblings from my garden................ off to watch the Olympic Tennis.......
'till next time
