A Little Doodle......

Week #4 Calendar Page

The challenge for week #4 at The Craft Barn Calendar Challenge is to doodle.

I have not had any time for crafting this week so last night I sat and doodled onto some paper as I didn't have a background ready.    Nothing came to mind so I attached the Calendar and
just let the doodles come, I always end up doodling when I'm on the phone  and all my  doodles always come out as butterflies and flowers.....

....... well no change there then lol.

Certainly has been a challenge this week for me to make anything so pleased that I managed to complete my 4th calendar page......hopefully next week will be a better crafting week......

'till next time

Oil Pastels...........

....Calender Page Week 3 - March
OMG this weeks Calendar page has been a hard "challenge" for me, firstly I have had a bug of some sort which has left me with no energy so today was the first chance I have had to play....The Craft Barn Calendar Challenge this week was to use Yellow/Green/White using oil pastels. Now I have never used these before so using DH's oil pastels I set off to make my page following the techniques shown last week....... as you will see from my calendar not my finest hour................ eeeekkkk

First I tried Michelle's method using a Tim Holtz Applicator..........not very successful at all not sure what I did wrong...........so I decided to  scribble 2 shades of green and 2 shades of yellow onto the card and blend together with the applicator and some elbow grease ...phew lol....... although it is not the smooth background I was looking for I went with the abstract look and scratched a "sun" at the top, stamp is one I have had for years  Marie Curie Cancer Care stamp by docrafts which I stamped onto a strip of card and clear embossed then using the pastels I coloured in the image and blended with my finger.......mmmmmmmmm....... I blended a little more colour around the image. As I said not my finest hour but at least I tried out the Oil Pastels will need more practise I think!!!!!

Last but not least thank you everyone who commented on my last Calender Page and all my posts I really appreciate everyone of them.....Thank You!

I'm popping over now to see how the other ladies have done with week 3 and catch up on some blogs
'till next time.

Calendar Page

Week 2 - Bright Colours

Here is my February Calendar page for Week 2 at The Craft Barn Calendar Challenge.  Last week The Craft Barn DT shared with us some amazing projects with Dylusions sprays and as I have not got any Dylusions Sprays  I decided to  use Luminarte Shimmer spray which instead of spraying on I have painted onto watercolour paper as I wanted a wash effect, colours used were persimmon and passion fruit this done I left my page to dry..........when I came back to it my mojo had left the room of craftyness.........

..........now I had a nice bright background but nothing to add to it then I had a light bulb moment......February.....Valentines Day........Chocolate...........

Heart is a Tim Holtz stamp stamped with Barn Door DI and over stamped with Black Soot on three onto a piece of the background which I then distressed the edges of the paper with my distressing tool and left them white and attached to the page. Keep Calm etc., was stamped onto white card  in Black Soot DI and edges distressed as before and inked .....stamp is a Stamposarus set. my Calendar is one I made and inked the edges with black soot.  The finished page was then mounted onto a piece of chipboard and holes punched.

I might need sun glasses on when I get to this page next year but I'm sure it will "brighten" a dull February Day......thanks to all the DT for your inspiration.

'till next time

January 2013................

.........Hehehe don't panic you haven't been asleep and woken in January 2013....The Craft Barn are hosting their Calendar Challenge again this year and I missed joining in last time so hopefully I am going to be able to make it to the end this year!!! Great Prizes and offers at The Craft Barn pop over and take a look!

Each week the DT are showing different techniques and products and the Challenge this week is to us Vellum.  After I had hunted down my Vellum which I love just have "forgotten" to use it much lately, I decided to emboss it with embossing folder and then coloured the whole thing with Alchol Inks which I have never done before!!! Great fun...

I have decided to make a page for each month for this challenge and have added big metal rings to hold them all.

It was quite hard to get into the winter theme as the sun was shinning through my craft room window and was very warm as I was crafting......anyway I chose the colours  Purple Twilight, Stonewashed, Aqua, Denim with a little bit of Gold mixative thrown in, Stamps TH stamped in Stazon, "Snowflakes" were Spellbinders Ironwork Motifs which I love as snowflakes.  I layered them up around a circle of card and velum for the centre of the large snowflake and added bit of  bling ......got to have bling in January........which is a busy birthday month in this family, firstly DD, then DH then Me( a big one this time>>>>how did that happen!!), followed by DD's partner, followed lastly by our Grandson, closely followed in February for DS, phew........sorry I'm rambling again.............

I will also be playing at Anything But a Card Challenge.....shiney,sparkly,blingy

Wise Owl......

October already I must have blinked and someone stole September. We are still clearing and sorting so not much crafting time for me over the last few weeks but hopefully I will be back crafting and blogging more this month ......today I sneaked into the room of crafty -mess......yes it is still untidy but my desk is cleared......and I made this tag with a new Stamp Set from IndigoBlu Hocus Pocus which I bought mainly for the Owl Image.....

Edited photo Tuesday morning although dull and raining a much better result.....flash altered the colours in the original one I posted
Photo colours could be better.......it was dark and the flash seems to have changed the colours a little....sorry.
Background Distress Inks  Rusty Hinge, peeled paint, vintage photo . I stamped images in Adirondak Ink Esspresso, when dry I added splashes of DI rusty hinge and vintage photo with ink left on sponge, ribbon was coloured using rusty hinge and vintage photo.
Over at Sunday Stamper Hels is asking us to make something that makes us happy.........tags make me happy as they give me quick fix crafting when I don't have much time but want to craft, I also love Owls and New Stamps so making this tag made me very happy lol.
