"P" is for Poppy

2 posts in one day wow!
This is my second altered page for the Alpha Challenge at The Craft Barn where the letter is "P" I love Poppies so decided to alter a second page to share at this challenge, only trouble is everything didn't go to plan..............think that is an understatement to say the least, I started by painting the poppies in acrylic paint "fusion" style which went wrong from the start need more practise......anyway instead of just abandoning it I then decided to add some red colour ink to the top of the page and spritz and let the colour run over the page I blotted with paper towel, next I used stencils and black acrylic paint for the bars, words and numbers, then I over stamped the poppies and embossed in black which I also did for the word Poppies, also added rings with a bottle lid and white paint.

Without realising it I seem to have made a remembrance page so I thought I would share anyway as things don't always need to go to plan............do they?
Thanks for looking and for the lovely comments on my Pear page here

Nearly time for our new letter can't wait

make you happy..............Keep Calm and Eat Chocolate!!!!

I have had a lovely chill day today and with nothing in mind I drifted into my little room of craft and started to play the end result was this tag

Distress inks salty ocean, picked raspberry mown lawn were on my desk so I used these colours for the background I stamped and embossed in silver with stamps from Creative Expressions set British Wild Flowers also in the set are little background stamps and phrases which I have also used, ribbon was dyed with picked raspberry distress ink and dryed crumpled, lastly I distressed the edges of my tag with scissors and using versa mark plenty was applied to the distressing and then dipped in silver embossing powder sometimes the quickest and easiest projects are the ones we don't plan........
I would like to enter this tag into the folowwing challenges

P is for Pear

Another altered page for the Alpha Challenge at The Craft Barn this fortnight the letter is P and Pear popped into my head first  and knowing I had a lovely Pear stamp in my stash the decision was the easy part finding time to actually make my page has been a challenge, so today as it is freeeeeeezing cold and the wind is blowing and snow still on the ground I hibernated and managed to do some crafting although my little room of craft was chilly today the wind is blowing straight at it and the radiator was only turned low so I cranked up the rad and got crafting.

Stamp is from Creative Expressions designed and drawn by Sheena Douglass, for the colour I used Distress Ink vintage photo to stamp Pear and  distress markers directly onto image and also scribbled onto my acrylic block added  water making a wash, colours used dried marigold, vintage photo, brushed corduroy, peeled paint.

I may be back with another page which is almost complete if I have time, thanks for looking and for all the lovely comments left for my last page Marigold, I really appreciate them and the your time. I will be visiting all the entries I love to see what everyone has done but try not to look before I have done my page and it is soooooo difficult to resist all the lovely entries......so off to get a cuppa and I'm going browsing  see you all later.

M is for Marigold...........

Hi again bloggers and welcome to my new followers nic to have you along with me on my crafting Journey and also a great big thanks to all of you who have been following my Alpha Challenge journey and have left lovely comments...Thank you!
We have a little twist in the challenge this fortnight from The Craft Barn as we can only choose words between Ma-Me....I had already decided my word for M was going to be Marigold as I love these cheerful flowers so was pleased that my word came within Ma-Me. Only problem being how was I going to achieve this.......
Now you all know I can not draw for a toffee (or chocolate) so off to my trusty stamp stash to find a "Marigold" I soon found the ideal stamp which is from The Paint Fusion Range of stamps from Sheena Douglass, now the stamp in question was designed to be a daisy but with change of colour I have found it can become a variety of flowers and today bloggers Daisy is going to be.............yes you guessed a Marigold........

I started as usual with gesso over my pages that I had stuck together and stamped the image which I then painted Fusion style with Pebeo Acrylic Paint in manderine, mango for the petals and  burnt umber was used for the middle and a little mango.  I also used a mask for the brickwall and distress inks frayed burlap and vintage photo. I do  love the texture this painting style gives to the page I just wish it showed up well in the photo!
I also added a little journaling ...A first for me as I'm not comfortable writing my thoughts on my page...........but this challenge is a whole new journey for me as it is the first altered book I have done too.

As we can only choose between Ma-Me this means there are quite a few pages left in M unused so I think I may stick them together and decorate so the book when finished will have all the sections decorated......what are you all doing?!

Apart from my Alpha challenge I have not had much time for crafting hope this will change soon as I have missed getting into my craft room and getting messy.  Thanks for looking 'till next time
