Christmas Wrapping

Hello bloggers what a week I have had we have had a family bereavement which was unexpected so that threw us for the first part of the week then my laptop decided to give up and go on strike PC world said " it will take 14 days to take a look and repair" yiks!!! and that is business account service!!! Anyway after some frantic phone calls DH found a very nice man who agreed to look, diagnose problem and if it was an emergency he would do it immediately which he did and I got my laptop back this afternoon Yipee.

I also have some good news I won the challenge for September "Texture" at Crafts Too Challenge You here which was very exciting and I have been asked to be a Guest Designer for November........but I can say no more lol.  Anyway I am very late in entering October Challenge at Crafts-Too Challenge You Christmas Festivities Twist 2 - What Christmas Means to You.

Christmas for me is all about getting together with family and giving presents which I love to wrap up and make the packaging myself if possible so for this challenge I have altered a brown carrier bag ready for someones present.  I have used the Crafts-Too Die Merry Christmas Angels and Rhinestone gems  which I received in my prize package from C2CU, thank you.

Papers and Father Christmas Stamp used were Tim Holtz Mini , I coloured Santa with distress inks and vintage photo used around spellbinders die cut in cream card.  Lace was added to side of bag finally a large bow from Creative Expressions ribbon.

The Die Merry Christmas Angels was cut in cream card with my prize die which cuts and releases beautifully, I inked through the die with vintage photo distress ink and added gems.  Sorry the photo is so bad but it was dark by the time I took photo and the challenge is ending soon so must dash over and link before it is too late

Room with a View

Time for another letter for the Alpha Challenge at The Craft Barn this time it is the letter "L" with a twist there has to be  a window included.  Straight away I knew my word was going to be Landscape looking out through a window, for some silly reason I forgot to post the finished page and have only just realized. must be an age thing but better late than never though as I haven't missed a letter so far.......

I started by cutting out a "window" from the pages on the right and then glued them together.  The landscape was stamped using Sheena Douglass set of stamps in  the A Little Bit Sketchy range and painted with distress inks and attached .  A window was cut using Spellbinders die in brown card and I cut up a frame which was in my bit box into pieces to make curtains, the ornate pieces I cut from the window die were used to highlight the word "Landscape"

At the bottom of the left page was the word " landing stage" and as the set of stamps I was using had a landing stage stamp I just had to use it didn't I!  So this was stamped in vintage photo distress ink and with water I dragged the colour into the design added a little water with faded jeans

It is nearly time for  another letter to be announced will it have a twist or won't it, all will be revealed on Sunday not long to wait I am still enjoying this challenge and visiting all the other entries is such fun and everyone has great ideas even when the words are the same the pages are so different.  I'm off to link mine and have a good look round over the next day or so.
Thank you all so much for the lovely comments on my jumping stickman it was such a fun page to do.

 thanks for looking.

Trick or Treat......and a little bit Spooky

Hello bloggers sorry it has been so quite over here but somehow "life" seems to have got in the way of my crafting time and I cleaned out my craft room too and have hardly had chance to play in there......... anyway today I just needed some me time and to play with stash I "found" while clearing out my room of stash, so with Halloween  and a few challenges  in mind I have made this......

Tando Creative Challenges for October is "Spook It" so starting with a Tando Mini Print Tray I "found" in the bottom of a draw seemed a good place to begin, I painted with black paint and when dry I brushed with gold Distress stain.  Using IndigoBlu stamp set Hocus Pocus I stamped several images onto orange stripped paper. Using Tim Holtz Bingo embossing folder and black card I embossed and cut out No. "31"  and cut the big spider with Tim Holtz Alterations die...(I hate spiders) eeek! we have a lot coming into the house at the moment..............

Spell bottles were filled with coloured sweet wrappers (yep I keep everything)..... purple, green, and orange, "Spells" was stamped onto card swooshed with distress inks (from my bit box). Stamps are a miniature alpha set, not sure of make.

Pumpkin is another "find" and is soft foam I rubbed vintage photo distress ink over it and black soot around the edges, an Idea-ology pin was used to attach a Halloween Sticker (TH) , more stickers - Trick Treat were used at the top of the tray , also I stamped the bird onto orange card.
Phew I think that's  all it is harder to explain then to make lol, I really enjoyed getting all painty and inky and covered in glue...such fun

I will also be playing at

Country View Challenges Something Spooky

Anything But A Card challenge 28  Colours orange and black

Thanks for looking 'till next time,

J is for .................

...............Jump

Not much crafting going on here at the moment due to my attempt to have a major sort out in
the room of stash and it has taken me longer than I thought.......nearly finished now  hopefully but  I had to make time and clear a space for me to make my altered dictionary page in the on going Alpha Challenge at The Craft Barn which I am hopelessly addicted to.

After reading through the J words only one word jumped out at me so I ran with it all puns intended lol!

Very simply I stamped J in various colours of Addirondak inks and drew my stickmen jumping over them.  I will be catching up with all the other entries as soon as possible, thanks for looking
