In Fragments......

Compendium of Curiosities- Challenge 2# Fragments Basic

Linda has set Week 2 challenge over at Studio L3 from Tim Holtz Book A Compendium of Curiosities, I am really enjoying these challenges and looking at all the beautiful art that is being created.  As we don't know what order the challenges will be set I had a rummage through my TH stash to see what I would need I quickly made a list (not hard at all ) and ordered from The Artistic Stamper, super quick delivery meant I had my goodies before this challenge was posted and Yippee yes I had some fragments, also TH Paper Stack Retro Grunge and some Tissue Tape - isn't this fantastic tape!!!!  The challenge is to follow the technique in CC book (sorry can't share) Fragments Basic, so very reluctantly I cut - yes cut into my very new and very gorgeous TH papers - for this weeks entry.

I cut shape with my large labels Nestabilities Die from the papers which already have a distressed look and stamped  a with Rusty Hinge DI and Harlequin stamp - it is so much in the background you can hardly see it, then I stamped the main design in black, I added a piece of Tissue Tape (really really love it!) distressed with Wild Honey and attached a Fragment to highlight a word which just happened to be,  lol - De Chocolat it is spelt that way.

I stamped crown and small butterfly onto contrast paper from the page with small squares so I didn't have to cut into a large page - just couldn't do it!! I know how sad am I !!!!
I attached the Fragments, distressed the edges of page with Black DI . Page 2 of my book completed -wonder what next week will bring!! Roll on Monday - never before have I wanted Monday to come so quickly LOL.

I have not used Fragments before - don't know why not, but will be again, Thanks Linda for a great challenge and the push to try something different.

Bye for now

  2. Maggie, it's wonderful! So much attention to detail here. I love how the chandelier seems to be suspended from the flourish, and the subtle tone-on-tone action in the background. And hey, if I were going to highlight a word, "Chocolat" would be it!

Thanks so much for playing along again this week! I'm really enjoying your creations.

    Hugs,
    Linda
