CHRISTMAS SPLATTER

Panel  1

Week 22 Compendium of Curiosities Challenge & Sunday Stamper Challenge

I haven't posted a thing on my blog all week because I haven't made anything  see sad face  I am looking after my mom almost all of the time now so don't get much chance to craft at the moment but had to squeeze in CCC last night before I fell asleep in front of telly and realised when I had finished that I could also join in with Sunday Stamper at the same time. 2 for 1 a bargain!!!!!!

Linda at Studio L3 set us the challenge this week of Alcohol Ink Splatter, now we all know that I can't say what I did for the technique but what I can say is that for pic no1. after the splattering I ran through the TH Alterations Trees folder and then sanded, stamped trees from TH Mini Holidays in black, same for Merry Christmas. I have left it as a panel as I don't know if I will make a Christmas Card with it or a hanging (seem to be into those at the mo) or put into my book!

Panel 2
For the second panel this evolved after a bit of a mishap at stage 4 and 5 ooppps!.  I stamped Santa onto the area with the mishap - can you spot it ? and ran with it again have not made it into anything but think this will end up as a Christmas Tag for DH.  Will enter this panel into Sunday Stampers challenge this week is SANTA.

I don't have the right tool for this one and used a straw as suggested by Linda maybe I need more puff but not sure if I really pulled of the effect, my inks all seem to have merged into each other!!  I will have to finish them off when I have some more time.

Thanks for looking and for all the lovely comments you have left on my blog.  I simply have not had time to leave as many comments this week but all the art over at L3 is amazing!

Bye for now

  1. Thanks for dropping by my blog Maggie. I really like your trees, the splatter colours are great, and I love the effect you've got from the embossing as well.

  4. What a clever idea to combine the splatter background with texture fades! I love it! It is interesting to see all the new ideas people in this challenge come up with.
ANd it is not easy beacause we use the same technique and we use similar products (Tim's products)! great job!

  5. Fabby pieces Maggie - thanks for joinin in with the Sunday sTamper :O))
I have one of those air cans but if it runs out (they cost a bomb to replace LOL) I use a really fine straw and have it really close to the inkdrop - you only need a little drop - that makes it splatter better... well, that is what has worked for me - hope that helps - mind you, your splatters are looking fab! x

  7. Maggie, my dear, these are extraordinary!

What a great idea to emboss and sand the card after doing the technique! It's a beautiful look and such a unique approach to using the alcohol ink splatter. The design of your tree tag is amazing-- the depth you created with the contrast between the embossing and the dark stamped image is brilliant.

Your Santa tag rocks, too, and I honestly don't see any mishaps, just a whole lot of pretty!

I'm sending my best to you and your mom, and I hope you get some time to rejuvenate and create!
