Love is in the Air

........everywhere you go....... this song has been buzzing around in my head all morning while I was crafting haven't googled to see who sang it though because I thought it would come to me by now but it hasn't Oh well will have to go and google......before I do here is the Hanging I made for Compendium of Curiosities Challenge posted by the lovely Linda at StudioL3 Week#29 is Weathered Wood Grunge  on page 50. Also over at Hels place Sunday Stamper Week #138 is Buttons - now this song thing playing around in my head all started here with that song Push the Button....... so it all Hels fault......... LOL.
Lastly Our Creative Corner challenge  this week is a 3D Project with a Valentine Theme. This is the first time I have ever managed three challenges in one .....

The base for my hanging was grunge put through a TH texture fade folder Bingo, and then the steps followed as per page 50. Paint used pink sherbet dabber and DI barn door. The heart was run through another texture fade folder with the deposed side showing, all were cut with the Slice cutting tool, DI black soot on edges, at the bottom the frill is made with red crepe paper music paper punched with martha stewart punch and ribbon added, flowers were made from punched out flowers from double sided papers and scrunched when wet and left to dry, lastly I added buttons.  Words were made on my Xyron runner and punched out.  I have had a great time this morning making this and playing with some tools I have left lounging in their boxes for far too long.

Below are some close up pics

Here it is hanging in my room of craft

All other punches, card and DSP used were from Stampin' Up.

OMG  Almost forgot....... I was chosen again this week for A Ginger Gem over at GingerSnap Creations for my One Layer Card in their once in a blue moon challange click here if you want to peek at the blog post and I am wearing the Ginger Gem Badge with pride.........lol.
Phew long post today  sorry.....................but just had to share my joy
Bye for now

  7. "Love is in the Air," was by John Paul Young. I love that song! And, it's the perfect melody to accompany your gorgeous wall hanging. Maggie, it's wonderful! Your weathered wood technique looks gorgeous on the Bingo texture, and the colors are fabulous! I love all the pretty, feminine details.

Congrats on your much-deserved Ginger Gem award, too!

  9. Maggie, I love your wall hanging. I have a weakness for vintage, or aged items. And, I love how you gave us the page number, for the distressing! I'm a big fan of Tim's, too. Ok, back to your entry; I love the little touches you added, the two hearts, the distressing, the paper flowers, the decorative trim punch, and the buttons!
Thanks for playing along with us @ OCC.
