After many failed efforts I finally managed a tag I am quite pleased with..... I found this a lot harder than Tim makes it look but then he is the King of all things distressed!!! There must be a knack to this if anyone has suggestions I will be pleased to here them. Mostly I found the pearls and inks bled too much no matter how much or little water I added...............anyway enough waffle here is my Tag. I am also playing at The Artistic Stamper Creative Team blog October challenge- Autumn Colours.
This picture shows up the perfect pearls which is hard to photo. I used DI's barn door, dried marigold for the background, numbers were stamped in walnut stain and technique added, I used Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls, words from the quote were stamped again onto white card and stamped in black soot again adding the technique... top word says Start photo not showing them very well, if you look at the top hiding under the ribbon you will see a butterfly stamped in dried marigold and then adding the technique.
This picture is taken in daylight and from a different angle which shows only the inks and perfect pearls are more subtle...... well you can hardly see them lol ;-))
Stamps used TH Fairytale Frenzy and tag cut using Alterations Tag Die.
You have done very well on this one, it is not an easy technique. I wonder how many tries TH does before his video is perfect! Love the colours. Valerie

What a fabulous tag Maggie! Thanks for joining in The Artistic Stamper challenge! xx
ReplyDeleteLooks great, Maggie... love your colors. I had a hard time with it too but I guess that's the good thing about challenges - they push us!
ReplyDeleteFab tag love the colours I think your technique worked out really well it looks great . Mandy x
ReplyDeleteStunning tag! Love the stamps you used and the background was so worth the effort! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteIt is a tricky technique. I found the PPs disappeared if you added much water. Your tag is gorgeous so worth the frustration. I love how you did the quote and the elements go together perfectly..Donna
ReplyDeleteHi Maggie love the tag and the colours, thanks for popping by my blog the other day, have a great weekend Sara x.
ReplyDeleteGreat job! Like the numbers down the side and the background colors.
ReplyDeleteMaggie, it's fabulous!!! You've definitely got the Perfect Distress technique down solid-- this is a beautiful example of its soft, watercolor-y effect. The sentiment is so wonderful, and the colors are gorgeous!
