.............. is the theme at the
Craft Barn Blog for February's AJ page we have been asked to fill hearts with the things we love, instantly I knew I would fill my hearts with Stamping, Embossing and Distress Inks. My first love has to be Stamps and I will never forget how impressed I was with heat embossing when I first saw a demonstration in my early years of crafting (18 years ago..) and this has never left me, also dry embossing was a thing I loved to do but with a light box this was not a quick job, then along came machines embossing folders and the rest is history as they say so quick and so effective now, couple these with Distress Inks.....
hooray to the King of Grunge Tim Holtz and I am in heaven. So to my page the background was covered with pool paint dabber which I dragged across randomly and filled in with distress ink broken china, this was then stamped with text and butterflies and the paint lid dipped in pool paint, with a piece of corrugated card which I inked with white and yellow paint I stamped lines in various places, and made splodges with picket fence distress stain.
Background for my journal heart was broken china DI stamped with dried marigold, I find writing journaling in my own hand difficult....but I did it!!
Dry embossed heart on background of DI's and
Background DI stamped with TH stamp and embossed with cosmic shimmer embossing powder.
I have had a great morning getting inky and painty making this page, hope you enjoy looking!
