Sparkly Wall Art

Over at A Vintage Journey the challenge is Baby your a Firework.  The challenge had me scratching my head a little (well a lot actually lol) eventually I made a piece of  wall art which I love to make and I used my all time favourite die Umbrella Man, his umbrella is protection so the fireworks don't ruin his hat.........it is a scary place here inside my head.........that was my thought process anyway.
After searching my stamps to find anything that might resemble fireworks I decided on this Star stamp which is from Tim Holtz Christmas Set, just use imagination and think fireworks and it works......

I have used distress inks -  chipped sapphire, seedless preserve and dusty concord for the background on white card.  Fireworks (stamp from Tim Holtz Christmas collection) stamped in versamark and embossed with various EP colours - fine detail gold, white twinkle and golden ocean. This photo shows the sparkle a little.

Umbrella Man die cut with black card I used silver pebeo guilding wax over him and also the word Vision which was cut from Stacked Artful Words die Tim Holtz.  The artful tag also had the wax treatment but unfortunately this doesn't show up in the photo very well but has given an aged look to it instead of being so shiny.  I mounted my finished piece onto thick board hanger is twisted wire.

Sorry bad photo tried to focus on the words and lighting is not good today but you can see sparkle!!

I really had fun making this project thank you Vintage Journey for stretching my little grey cells.

  4. Well done, Maggie! If I were on the nominating committee, this would be a winner! Love your thought process, and your execution of all your techniques is fantastic! I was trying so hard to picture fireworks, and just gave up the ghost and went for the sparklies they leave in my head! See, we all have a dangerous place on top of our necks! Hugs!
