January Tag

Hello Bloggers
I know I have been AWOL for sooooooo long life has a way of getting in the way and being pretty awful, but I will save you from all my trials and tribulations of the last few months of 2014. With Christmas out of the way I was prepared to get back into my craft room and hopefully blog again.  Ooh no the winter bugs had other ideas January 2nd I went down with a cold which turned into a chest infection which lasted until 21st January, I was just starting to feel human again when Monday of this week the same bug came back and took hold all over again, so feeling very fed up I decided to go into my craft room and try and make something to cheer me up.  Well  12 tags of 2015 was a very good place to start, rummaging through my Tim stash and getting inky and messy always makes me happy.
As always there is always a lot of compromising going on as I don't have everything Tim uses but I enjoy the challenge.  The first stage was to cover a tag in Tims Tissue......... first compromise so I made my own with some of Tim's stamps and tissue.

This is what my tag looked like after several more stages you can just about seem my tissue stamping under the paint and distress stain.  In the bottom corner a collection of Idea-ology

2015 is made from grungeboard numbers but I was missing  an 0 so I used a circle of harlequin grungeboard, it really is surprising what you can find when have a good rummage........these were then covered in distress embossing powder and then I added ranger distress stickles . They didn't stand out enough for me so I ran the black soot distress marker around the edges smudging with my fingers.

Distress stain was splattered as Tim's instructions with a toothbrush instead of the splatter tool.

I will be linking this with Tim's 12 Tags 2015 and peruse some of the entries also hopefully I will start to catch up with some of my fellow bloggers and see what you have all been up to since I was last in blogland.

Thanks for looking, until next time

  1. Hi Maggie - how lovely to see you here, though I'm very sorry to hear of all your trials. Hope you will be feeling more yourself very soon.

Love your take on the January tag - such clever work on the homemade tissue wrap and on the Stickles over the embossing powder.
